Mesopotamia, aptly named for being 'Meso' (in between) the 'potamos' (the rivers), forms the modern day Iraq, Kuwait and Western Iran. It is known by this name for being the region between the Tigris (right on the map) and Euphrates (left on the map) rivers. These rivers were extremely significant to the civilisation, because they provided fertile land through irrigation. Without this, the lands would be too bare and dry to grow most crops on!
Through the development of social hierarchy and literature and communication, the Mesopotamia has evolved into a stronger nation.
The literature of Mesopotamia is one of its finest cultural achievements.
Social Hierarchy allowed the division of labour, which provided the civilisations with food, art, and building resources, as it allowed citizens to gather different resources and trade them for others. Literature allowed them to organise these trades, and their spoken communication allowed them to conduct them.
